Type of Election: Presidential Preference Primary AND General Primary
Notes: The March 24th primary has been postponed for a second time to June 9th due to Covid-19 concerns. This primary is to select a preference for Presidential candidates and to select candidates for other federal, and statewide offices. Some counties may also hold a special election on this date.
Confused about the June 9th Primary?
If you're confused about the June 9th primary, you aren't alone. You have TWO primary elections to vote in for 2020. Originally these were scheduled for two different dates: March 24th for Presidential Candidates only, and May 19th for other Federal, State, and County offices. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, these were combined into one primary on May 19th (now June 9th), even though it's possible that you voted already in the Presidential Preference Primary. If you did, you will need to request an absentee ballot and vote again for the other offices. Due to continuing concerns about Covid-19, the May 19th primary was then re-scheduled to June 9th (the latest date under Georgia law).
